October 2009

We are very pleased to announce the roll out of the brand new Legends Ranch Alpacas website. What began as a vision two years ago, has quietly developed into all that the family had anticipated. We hope that you find it easy to use, helpful and a place that you will come back to often for the latest news, tips and updates at the ranch.

Early Fall in North Texas has been unseasonably wet this year. Record-breaking rainfall and flooding has plagued much of the area and the ranch was not immune. We recorded more than 12 inches of rainfall in the last 30 days. Although the pastures are muddy and sloppy, the animals appear to be taking it all in stride which is a credit to their stoic nature and capacity to adapt to change. They are truly remarkable animals. We hope to be able to dry out soon!

In Show news, we patiently (not really!) await the results of Grindin Gears’ first show of the year. We are excited and hoping it’s good news…to carry us into his first halter show at the end of November at Alpacas in the Ozarks. Although plans are not yet finalized, we expect to take a few others as well. If you plan on attending the show, please stop by and see us!
